Amos Woodrow Morgan

Amos Woodrow Morgan, 78, passed away in his home on Jan. 26, 2018, after an extended battle with cancer.

Amos grew up doing many things; descended from farmers he learned what hard work meant at an early age. He worked for a farmer and helped his family make a living while farming and traveling back and forth from Arkansas to California picking fruit. Amos worked many jobs in his lifetime; the job he most enjoyed was flea-marketing. He loved being out selling anything he could find, from jewelry, cars and tools. If you crossed his path you could bet you were going to buy something at a good deal. When asked what his profession was he would always respond with “Jack of all trades, master of none.”

Amos met his wife, Lorraine Morgan, in 1984 in California. After visiting family in Boundary County, they fell in love with the natural beauty of the area and moved here in 1991. In their years together they raised several children and grandchildren. Amos enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He loved having people around him. Every Thursday he would attend Saters Auction as he called it a social event. He liked to go whether or not he bought anything, often just to say hi to everyone.

Amos is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Earl Morgan, his beautiful daughter Rita Victoroff, and many others that he so loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Morgan; brothers Hasten Morgan, James Morgan; his sister Barbara (Dean) Smith; and his children Pamela Morgan, Melanie Redmill, Jonathan Wilson, Christopher Morgan, Michelle (Phil) Ridley, Cheryl (Jessie) Wright, Amanda (Ray) Thompson, Angelina Morgan and Anthony Morgan. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and those who just knew him as “Pa.”

Amos will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him in the community. He didn’t want any services but wanted to thank everyone who came and helped out through his passing.
