SPIRIT LAKE — A spirited comeback effort wasn’t enough as the Bonners Ferry girls’ basketball team traveled to Spirit Lake Tuesday, Jan. 9, to face Timberlake, the two-time defending 3A state champions.

The Tigers led by as much as 16 points late in the third, but the Lady Badgers rallied to cut that lead to four points with less the four minutes remaining in the game. Timberlake recovered and was able to hold off Bonners Ferry the rest of the way.

Miranda Wenk led the Badgers, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds before fouling out late in the game. Kadi Bateman contributed 12 points and Jerzie Pluid had 10 rebounds.
