One of the activities for this summerís Village Project was the creation of a group project painting in the style of contemporary artist Jackson Pollock.
To create the mural, the young artists used water balloons, dripped acrylic paint onto the canvas while perched on scaffolding, and even mixed colors by riding bicycles over the wet paint. The result of this group effort has been put on display in the community center at Elk Mountain Farms for all to appreciate.
Each of the proud artists can show you at least one part of the project that is uniquely theirs.
This year the Village Project operated in conjunction with the School Districtís Migrant Summer School Program, headed by Mt. Hall Principal, Lisa Iverson. It was coordinated by Amy Robertson, University of Idaho Extension and Barbara Castellan, community volunteer. We are hoping to expand the project next summer.
